About Tandem
Tandem brings together senior leaders of diverse backgrounds and experience to challenge their assumptions, about themselves and the systems in which they work. We encourage new ways of embracing leadership in order to advance new ways of working.
Tandem’s vision
Tandem forms leaders primed to tackle the challenges of today and tomorrow through peer-led learning and joint problem-solving. The programme delves into leaders’ needs, as individuals and a collective, providing clarity of purpose and a path forward.
Our leadership programme
Tandem is an executive leadership programme for leaders in the humanitarian and development sector. Through Tandem, leaders gain access to tools and resources relevant to the challenges in their sector as well as their day-to-day. Rooted in best practice, the programme takes a blended learning approach.
Embedded in every module of the curriculum is the ambition to understand oneself and the context in order to make more informed and empathetic decisions. As such, the programme encourages collaboration – throughout the learning journey and beyond – that will ultimately result in better response to crises.
- Reflect on their personal values, motivations and resilience
- Demonstrate an awareness of their own power and positionality and its implications on their leadership
- Use communication skills and emotional intelligence to resolve conflicts and influence direction
- Anticipate and respond strategically to challenges facing their organisations
- Assemble a professional network of fellow senior leaders
What makes Tandem unique
Tandem fosters a sense of connection among leaders across the humanitarian and development sector, where coordination and joined up efforts can be difficult to achieve. Embedded in every module of the curriculum is the ambition to understand oneself and the context in order to make more informed and empathetic decisions.
As such, the programme encourages collaboration – throughout the learning journey and beyond – that will ultimately result in better response to crises.
